FC Goa is an Indian professional football franchise based in Goa that competes in the Indian Super League. The club was launched on 26th August 2014 and is owned by Goan Football Club Pvt. Ltd. which consists of Venugopal Dhoot, Virat Kohli and Jaydev Mody.

Legendary Brazilian footballer, Arthur Antunes Coimbra (Zico) has been the club's Manager (Head Coach) since the first season of the Indian Super League. Former Brazilian skipper, World Cup winner and UEFA Champions League winner, Lucio has been the marquee player for the franchise from the second season of the ISL.

The squad comprises a vibrant mix of youth and experience and has one of the biggest contingents of local players with names like Mandar Rao Dessai, Romeo Fernandes and Laxmikant Kattimani representing the club since the first season. French defender, Gregory Arnolin is the only international player who has represented the club since the premier season. Other notable names include Indian national team striker, Robin Singh, defender Denzil Franco and La Masia youth product, Joffre Mateu.

FC Goa has been a powerhouse in the ISL in two seasons so far. In the first year, the team lost out in the semi-finals after finishing second on the points table. The Gaurs went a step further in 2015 as they made it to the finals after finishing top of the points table.

The club play their home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa in front of close to 20,000 supporters which has helped make their home a fortress.

The FC Goa logo is a combination of Goa’s state animal- the gaur or Indian bison- and a shield, which symbolizes strength, attack and defence, all of which epitomize FC Goa. The logo personifies the character of Goan Football and the fundamentals of the team. Our history in Indian football will hold our team in good stead and fight a good fight in the first edition of the Hero Indian Super League.

fatorda stadium

Completed in the year 1989, the venue has been a mainstay of Indian football.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa is the home ground for FC Goa in the Hero Indian Super League. The stadium is widely considered to be one of the best in the country. The venue has been a mainstay of Indian football, having played host to a number of international games, including India's qualifiers for both, the FIFA World Cup and the AFC Asian Cup. It is also the home ground for a host of Goan clubs playing in the I-League. Churchill Brothers SC, Salgaocar SC, Dempo SC and Sporting Club de Goa use it as their home in the I-League.

The stadium was completed in the year 1989 and in 2014, it was renovated and upgraded according to the latest FIFA specifications. It has a seating capacity of about 19,800 and has a 100 per cent roof covering, providing spectators with ample seating area and comfortable seats in a two tier configuration. The West stand of the stadium also houses the VIP and VVIP areas. The stadium is regarded as one of the most well-maintained football grounds in the Indian sub-continent.

Training ground:


The training ground for FC Goa is at Tilak Maidan, Vasco da Gama, Goa. The venue hosts matches of the I-League as well as local Goan leagues. The venue has the capacity to accommodate 12,000 spectators. In 2014 it has been upgraded satisfactorily to ensure most FIFA standards are maintained. Some of FC Goa’s friendly matches are held here.
